Have you ever been perplexed by how our NC child welfare system functions? In this presentation, we’ll review the statutes that define child maltreatment in NC, examine the structure of county Division of Social Services (DSS) agencies that respond to maltreatment reports, and explore how decisions are made within our child welfare system.
